Apple iPhone 4S/ iPad2 Combo the Most Popular for BYOD
Good Technology’s latest device activation report shows that the iPhone 4S was the most popular amongst its customers, which includes half of the Fortune 100 and companies from every major industry. The results confirm that large companies are continuing to embrace the ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) trend and accept new devices into the enterprise.The Q1 findings showed that Apple’s iPhone 4S achieved 37 percent of all activations for the first quarter, four times that of any other device. The iPad 2 was in second spot overall, with 17.7 percent of activations with the new iPad in fourth place following its release in March, garnering 4.3 percent.The Motorola Droid was the most popular Android device with only 1.6 percent of all activations, making it the seventh most popular device for the quarter. Overall, Android smartphones represented 26.1 percent of all activations in Q1, while Android tablets came in at a mere 2.7 percent.John Herrema, Good Technology’s SVP of Corporate Strategy explained:
