A recent survey into smartphone security for Snap MyLife , carried out by Harris Interactive, highlights the demand for effective smartphone security apps. The survey showed that the vast majority of smartphone and tablet owners (76 percent ) carry personal data that is either very or extremely valuable.86 percent of smartphone and tablet owners said they were interested in a mobile app that could provide increased personal security. Desired smartphone security app features included:
- Allowing users to better manage their privacy
- Use GPS to locate/recover their device if it goes missing
- Remotely wipe personal data if the device is lost or stolen
- Send out personalized security notifications in emergency situations
- Securely back-up and restore data on their device
